Jesus came to serve man, to show and demonstrate God’s love for them. One of the ways He did that was to heal and set man free. When Jesus suffered and died for the world on the cross, He personally carried the sins and took the sicknesses and weaknesses in His body. In fact, He took the punishment of the world so that the world could get peace. By His stripes we are healed. Mental and physical healing comes from Jesus’ finished work on the cross.

In the gospels of the Bible, we read what Jesus did and how it affected the communities. “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan” (Matt.4:23-25).
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
There were many weak and sick people in Israel when Jesus lived on earth. When Jesus came walking through the villages people put the sick ones along the road, and He healed them. In fact, one place we can read that when Jesus saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion because they were confused and without hope. Basically, they were looking for someone to lead and help them.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He healed 2000 years ago, and He will surely heal today and tomorrow. Jesus said that in the same way God sent Him to the world, He now sends His followers (John.20.21). Born again believers with the Holy Spirit living in them, has been given authority to do what Jesus did.
We can read about this in the Bible: “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My [Jesus’] name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mark 16:17-18).
If you are sick or troubled, know that it is God’s will to make you well and set you free. We encourage you to connect with other believers who have chosen to follow Jesus as their Lord, and ask them to pray for you. In the second part of WonByOne we will help you to connect with other followers of Jesus. You can also contact us, or just put your hand on the place where you are sick and pray in the name of Jesus.
