Who is Jesus?

The Bible says: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Jesus is the Son of God. He is completely divine, just like God the Father.  When He came to this earth, He was also fully human. He lived a simple life, and many people mocked and humiliated Him. Yet He never sinned, and He showed us how it is possible to live in perfect unity with God with the Holy Spirit’s help. Jesus taught everyone who wanted to listen about the Kingdom of God. He healed the sick and even raised dead people to life. In fact, He treated everyone with love and kindness, especially poor and despised people.

I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus

But the main reason why Jesus came to earth, was to die for our sin. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden of Eden, the entire human race was separated from God. God then carried out His plan for salvation, which was to bring us back into fellowship with Him. He did this through the death of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection from the dead.

Jesus took all the sin of the world on Himself and carried it to the cross, where He died. With His death He paid the punishment we should have paid. Three days later He rose from the dead, and conquered death.  It is only through His death and resurrection we have eternal life.

The Bible says that everyone who believes in Jesus and receives Him as saviour gets the right to become a child of God (John 1:12). Therefore Jesus is the way to God. Jesus Himself says: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) This means that Jesus and our faith in Him are extremely important in our lives.

Many evil forces will try to take our focus away from Jesus, His Word and His promises. In the next video we will tell you what His Word is. For now, know that Jesus is the Son of God, He is alive today and He sits at the right hand of God, where He is praying for you.

Faith in Jesus and your confession of that faith will set you free. Jesus is the origin and the finisher of our faith. Jesus is the Truth.

He loves you, and He waits for you to receive Him!
