The Holy Spirit has been in action on this planet since creation. God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit cooperated in creating this earth. Every time God’s power is seen, the Holy Spirit is there.

Jesus depended upon the Holy Spirit as He worked among people on this earth. The Holy Spirit came down upon Him at the Jordan River when He was baptised (Matt 3:16). Before that, Jesus never preached a sermon or performed a miracle. After the Spirit came upon Him, everything He did was by the power of the Holy Spirit. In the same way the disciples were also baptised in the Holy Spirit so they could be powerful witnesses.
The Bible says: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” (John 14:26)
The Holy Spirit is our Helper, and the Spirit of Truth
Jesus described the Spirit as a helper and the Spirit of Truth. The task of the Holy Spirit is to teach you everything about God’s Kingdom. He does this by reminding you of all the things Jesus told his disciples. He will also tell you about things to come, and bring glory and honour to Jesus. (John 16:13-14)
In the Bible, Jesus said about the Holy Spirit: “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:8). The Holy Spirit is the one who draws us to Christ and convinces us of sin, and helps us to repent and ask for forgiveness.
Baptism in the Spirit
We said this in the last video: When you are born again, you are born of the Spirit and He lives in you. But everyone who believes can also be baptised in the Spirit. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a supernatural pouring out of power from heaven. In fact, this equips believers for efficient witnessing and work for God. (1 Cor 12:4-11)
This baptism is confirmed by speaking in tongues. What does that mean, you might ask. It is actually one of the gifts from the Holy Spirit of a language which the speaker does not know. The gift of tongues allows the believer to build up his own spiritual life through direct and continuous fellowship with God. It is the beginning of a life where the Holy Spirit’s gifts and fruits will be manifested. In the new testament church, this experience was considered normal for all believers.
The Bible says: “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life” (Jude 20-21). In the next video we will talk more about what prayer is.
The Spirit will never leave you, so you do not have to be lonely. He makes all the difference in your life. There is much more that could be said about this topic, and we will do so in part two of WonByOne.
